Cheese Patties – A vegetarian treat

What do you do if you’re tired of serving the same meat balls, the same patties? What are the alternatives or options when you want to make something tasty, healthy and new?
My husband is vegetarian and so over the last 10 years I’ve been coming up with great recipes for great dishes that do not include meat and are HAPPILY accepted even by the kids.
As usual, I decided to use what I had in the fridge and result is an amazing multi purposed dish – the cheese patties.
I’ve used these as an alternative to meat balls in this instance.

Ingredients:(about 15 small patties/ balls)

Ingredients

2 cups pressed dried cottage cheese (You can use cream cheese as well, you’ll just need to add a bit more flour to the mix)
6 tbsp flour
2 eggs
2 chopped garlic cloves
2 tbsp chopped fresh dill

Preparation:
Mix everything together until it is all combined.
Using wet hands form ball shapes and squeeze them just a little bit so they are not completely round, you can decide what size you want them to be
Place the patties on a pre heated oiled frying pan (medium heat) and fry each side until golden brown.
Your patties are now ready. You can eat them like this; they will go very well with natural yogurt on the side or just fresh salad.
You can also make them the same way you make meat balls. Just place them in your favourite sauce and cook/ heat for about 10 minutes. You don’t want to over cook them because then they will turn too soft.
I used these patties in an Indian sauce and served over mashed potatoes. The smell and taste were divine.
Have fun!
