Chicken with Rice – A Whole Meal in One Poton August 22nd, 2012 Posted in Home Made Cooking
Wouldn’t it be great if we could just fill a pot with ingredients, let it cook and have a whole meal? I mean no side dish, no main course, the whole meal in one pot. I personally think it’s awesome! So that’s what I did. Chicken, rice, spices, wait and ta-da dinner is served.
- 5 Chicken Thighs – Cubed
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- ½ Onion – Chopped
- 2½ Cups Boiling Water
- 1 Cup Rice
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- In a pot, preheat the oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion until softens.
- Add the cubed chicken thighs, garlic powder and paprika and constantly stir until chicken is almost fully cooked (you’ll see it changes the color – takes about 3 minutes).
- Add the boiling water, salt and pepper and lower heat to minimum.
- Add the rice, stir once or twice, cover the pot and let cook on low heat for about 30 minutes.
