Apples everywhere, so many apples and even more things to do with them! :) this is a classic. I love it because it's fast and good and makes my house smell like a bakery! Yum!
Ingredients
Dough Ingredients:
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
¼ + 2 tbsp sugar
¼ cup butter (can be either chilled or in room temperature)
½ cup milk
3 small apples OR 2 large ones - peeled and cut into small pieces
For the topping:
2 tbsp milk
1 tbsp sugar
¼ tsp cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat oven to 220C or 425F
Place all dough ingredients in a bowl (or a mixer bowl) and stir until a soft dough forms. The dough will be a just a little bit sticky.
Turn dough into a slightly floured surface and knead gently a few times, just until the dough is less sticky.
Divide dough into 2 balls and pat each ball into 2 circles (about 6-7 inches each).
Place 2 circles on a slightly greased baking sheet.
Brush tops with the 2 tbsp milk and sprinkle the 2 circles with the 1 tbsp sugar and ¼ tsp cinnamon.
Score each circle into 6-8 wedges.
Place in pre-heated oven for about 20 minutes or until browned and risen.
